ONE MILE = TWO SMILES
With every mile covered in the Ironman Emilia-Romagna, we want to two smiles: One in Meki, Ethiopia, one in Italy. Our goal is to collect 5.000€ for 50 orphan children in Meki (Ethiopia) so they can get access to education, health and nutrition for one year. We want to allow them to dream of a better future!
All money raised by Ironman4Meki will be used for Fundación Pablo Horstmann’s Orphan and Vulnerable Children’s program.
Building supportive teams
Supported by the amazing team surrounding my preparation for the Ironman Emilia-Romagna 2018, I train every day to bring both my body and mind one step closer to being able to finish what seemed almost impossible when I signed up for it. Every day, I make the deliberate decision to put myself into situations that might seem uncomfortable, but are actually so rewarding and motivating. I decided to combine the pursuit of my athletic goal with the goal to fundraise for the Pablo Horstmann Foundation because I want Meki's orphans to be in a similar position
where they can make choices
Fundación Pablo Horstmann
The Foundation was found in 2007 by the parents of Pablo Horstmann. Their inspiration was and still is in memory of his joy and happiness to make the foundation an instrument of solidarity to help, give hope and provide children in needs with basic things.
The Foundation has been operating an integral sanitary, educational and social project in Meki since 2011 that includes a clinic, an orphanage and a nursery school. Through the Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program, 205 orphans and families receive educational, nutritional and attentional support.
